Alien Kush originated in California, as a cross between two well-established strains in the Los Angeles underground scene: the Las Vegas Purple Kush (LVPK) and Alien Dawg. 

Its official creator is the breeder Obsoul33t, who subsequently marketed it under the Cali Connection label. Other sources link it directly to Alien Genetics, a California-based company specializing in exotic Kush crosses. 

The ambiguity surrounding its exact origins is part of its legend. No one really agrees, and that is ultimately what gave it its name.
